Known as the most romantic spot on the river and situated on the Hudson River is the splendid Stewart House. Athens is a small village on the other side of the Hudson River.

The rooms are all name as follows, The Dakota Room, The Ariel Room, The Meryl Streep Room, The Garden Penthouse Suite, The Henry Hudson Room, The Hardy Stewart Room, The Athens Room, The Pottery Room and The Hudson River Suite. Each room is individually decorated and has a true romantic feel to it.

For diner the Stewart House is recognized as one of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley. It offers fabulous dishes with great company. Steven Spielberg has dined here and says it is fantastic. The restaurant at the Stewart House was the winner of the Best Dish of the Year in 2004. The menu offers mouthwatering meals such as, for starters you could enjoy a delicious roasted beet and coach farm goat cheese salad, or a grilled shrimp cocktail, and for main you could enjoy braised Pork shanks. For dessert they offer triple chocolate chip cookies, Chiffon Cheesecake or Warm Chocolate Mousse Cake. The Outdoor River Garden was completed just over three years ago, where you can sit and enjoy a drink or meal at the Hudson River Cafe.

There are great museums to visit in Athens where you can learn all about the history of the area. For those of you who enjoy the theater there are plenty in New York, as well as all other kinds of shows you can enjoy. New York offers fantastic tours of the city which are splendid if you are new to the area. There are boat cruises you can enjoy if you have a passion for the open waters. If you want to see the city from above there are great helicopter rides available. And you if you are hungry you might meet a star or two in one of the many famous restaurants around the city.
