Lake Champlain is beautiful, peaceful and the ideal location to spend your next vacation at. If you're looking for fresh air, revitalisation and getting back to nature, then this scenic destination is perfect. Lake Champlain is steeped in American culture and features re-enactments of the French and Indian War or of the American War of Independence at Historic Fort Ticonderoga or at the ruins at Fort Crown Point.
Even though this amazing lake is renowned as a natural indulgence, it is also centrally located - being just a 30-minute drive west to the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Between the mountains and lake, nearby recreational activities include hiking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, boating, kayaking, tournament fishing, lake stream and ice fishing, rock climbing and golf. A free public boat launch is less than 1/2 a mile away. Just one hour south is the Six Flags Amusement Park and active village of Lake George, NY. Attractions in Vermont are just across the Crown Point Bridge with Middlebury and Burlington only a short drive away.
